Quake 4 no cd\dvd fix help

Hi there, i'm having trouble playing Quake 4. I recently instaled patch 1.2 and used TNT 1.2 crack for the game but when i start a new game the screen just freezes and i have to close it from the windows task manager, i've tryed couple of times to start the game but it always freezes.
I have the latest DX9 instaled and latest drivers, i've carefully read the readme file but it just doesent work.
Is there anything in particular i need to do so i can play the game?
I'm just trying to play the single player so i heavent even try to play on multiplayer.

for one thing check the entire game directory and see if it is checked as read only if it is uncheck it and if that donnt work uninstall and reinstall the game.
to check on the read only is simple all you have to do is rightclick the entire game folder and choose properties it will be right in front of you.dig it?

Yeah, the files were "read only" so i unchecked them and it's all fine now.
