Default Playing LAN games

hello

I have mcafee firewall installed and whenever i try to play a game on the LAN I cant find the hosted games on my other computers. But when i allow all traffic it works. What do games use to connect over the LAN that i need to allow

It's blocking incoming, so no one will be able to connect, disable Mcafee, should work.

I do that but i dont want to allow all because then i can still get hacked through the internet or people on the lan.

It's the only way I'm afraid, the chances of you actually are quite slim, just disiable it why your on the net, then when finish playing your multiplayer LAN games enable it again.

Is it the same for all firewalls. Do all firewalls block LAN games?

Yes. Generally speaking firewalls block all incoming info that could be a threat, such as someone hacking into your PC.
