Default Burning images to a dvd

I wanted to back up my quake 4 and age of empires 3 a cpuple of days ago so i made images of the quake 4 dvd disc and 3 images of age of empires. I burnt all the images to one DVD 5. But when i put it into one of my computers it wouldnt read the disc. Then i thot id try it on my friends computers but it worked on one but not the other. Would this be because there old dvd drives or is it the way i burnt it. It did say somthing about the quake 4 image being over 2 gb.

thx
