Please Help with Close Combat 3 NoCDPatch

I've downloaded and tried using the CloseCombat3v1.0NoCDPatchEng-2.ZIP for Close Combat 3: The Russian Front, but I keep getting the message "CC3 CD Rom was not detected". Anyone know what I may be doing wrong? I think I may be not changing the 'InstalledFrom' registry setting correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Do me a favor, open the registry, browse to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Close Combat\3.00]

Right click on above and choose export, save on desktop as temp.reg,

Next, open it with Notepad

Then copy and paste only the 2 sections you need changed

"InstalledTo"="D:\\cc3"
"InstalledFrom"="f:"

So I can see how they look, do not copy paste from registry, export then copy paste from the file on dekstop.

Please also include the Windows path to your games install folder such as C:\Program files\Close Combat 3 or whatever it may be.

current registry settings:

"InstalledFrom"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Close Combat III"
"InstalledTo"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Close Combat III"

Open your registry, browse to the section containing

InstalledFrom

Edit it From C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Close Combat III"

and make it just C: or even try C:\

I changed both ways and I still get the same error that it's looking for the cd. My guess is that maybe the crack.com that you are supposed to run in the Close Combat folder doesn't work? Thanks much for your help.
