Sims 2 Patch

I am currently using daemon-tools and the MiniImage of the game to play the game. If I install the Sims 2 patch from TheSims2.com, will it still be able to work or will i have to start using the cd.

I read "Help with Sims 2" and there was nothing regarding this.

As far as I know it will still work with Daemon Tools.

With the MiniImage, the patch might do the same thing as it does with the cd-crack. The patch would try to replace the .EXE that allows it to run with the original one.
