Help with the sims pet stories

I bought the Sims Pet Stories and installed it on two machines. One has windows xp and the other has windows vista basic. The game runs perfectly on both machines so I decided to download the no cd crack. The problem is the crack works on xp but not on vista. I installed the same way on both machines, but the vista machine still asks me to put in the correct cd. what am I doing wrong?

You need to have the UAC disabled, run the game from your administrator account and the exe file set to run in XP compatibility mode if everything fails.
Who did Vista wasn't thinking about gamers....
Hopefully, Windows 7 will be better.
