Slow videos in games

Does anyone know why the video sequnces in most games i mount using daemon tools or alcohol 120 are very very slow.
the actual game runs perfectly.
EG. I am currently playing Path of Neo and the video sequnces are totally un-viewable.
I dont think it is my pc's spec as i have 1gb ram, 2ghz processor and a geforce6.
any advice?

Could be a video codec problem, do you have any codecs installed from third parties such as DivX ? If so try removing them,

Also, if you have Media Player 10 installaed, uninstall it
Add & Remove Programs > click show updates, find and remove Media Player 10 and any 10 series codecs that may be installed.

After doing that, reboot, then download and install Media Codec 9 VCM
