Dungeon Siege 2 CRC error

I have installed this game and as soon as I have created a character and the begin level has to load the game gives me a CRC error.:eek:

What can this be??

I have a P4 2.6, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB HDD, 128 MB Geforce 5900 XT Ultra.

I have upgraded BIOS, and the latest NVidia video drivers.

I also have DirectX 9.0c installed.

I would really like to play this game I have finished Dungeon Siege 1 & expansion already and would really like to start with this game.

I hope anyone can help me with this problem.

tried reinstalling? crc means there is a bad file somewhere.

I am currently downloading the 2.2 patch to see if that helps. :)

Do you have any other suggestions what this problem might be? :confused:

Other games run smooth, I play Battlefield 2, Half Life 2 and other games without any problems.

nope, CRC (Cylic Redundancy Check) basically means a file somewhere has been damaged or replaced by one that is not origional.

This usually is a sign of a bad install or file. Only thing I can think of is try the patch, and get a fix for the new patch version. Make sure befor you patch the game with the 2.2 version to put back any files you had replaced with the previous fix.
