F.E.A.R level problem

on level 8 at the point of entry part of the level,when the first set of guys come outta the truck my game bombs my pc out,this happens everytime,i need help fixing this problem,any one know what to do?

Have you got all graphics settings set down low?

Try also ingame option, disable the sound, also if you have EAX enabled while playing, disable it as well as your card may have problems pushing EAX Audio in some games, specially a resource using game such as this one..

As for the level, straight ahead on the right, there is a doorway/window, you will need to make it to the entry before that truck plows you.

There is also a second time where another truck comes, the second time arund you will need to run back and take cover on the side of the building.

*You can also try to use a very low resolution until you get passed the truck and are able to save the game. *

yea i got to level 9 before but had to format windows so iv had to start it again so i know the level its just that problem,it only happens on that level and in certain points,like walking through the door where the truck bursts through places like that,i can get past it by constantly looking at the floor but then u just get shot up lol

aye, that level does seem a bit harsher on resources than the others, I think the ammount of sprites in the level as well as massive overdraw used on some of the effects are the cause. Then add in ambient sounds, music, normal sounds, gunfire sounds ect.. lol well you get the idea.

Just for reference, next time you encounter needing to reinstall your OS or need to backup your savegames/profile

In that location you will find a folder named FEAR, Copy the entire folder to a safe location, then wehn you reinstall and install the game again, you can simply put it back.
