View Full Version : Driver help for Ethernet.
Another problem from forum noob.
I recently formatted my pc and when I reinstalled everything the ethernet port on the back is not installed.
I have no idea which driver to get.
The mother board is an Asustek
Model: P5GD1-VM
I've had a look on the site but there are so many drivers to get I havent a clue which one it is.
My pc is from Mesh but it didnt come with a disk for the motherboard, just the windows disk.
Any help would be great.
Cheers.

Be better off using Ethernet, USB uses alot more resources where as Ethernet will use a a little bit of CPU (unless it has a built in processor)
So your slowdown may be because of resource usage.
Blast.
Something appears to be wrong with this download.
Downloaded it and then click on the auto run but it says windows can not find apps\setup exe etc.

You may be able to install the drivers without running setup.
Goto: Control Panel > System > Hardware Tab
Click Device Manager, look in the list of hardware for your Ethernet Controller, should be one (if not the only one) that is marked with a yellow excalmation point.
Right click it and choose Update Drivers
Click No, not at this time,
Then click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
Click, Don't search, I will choose the driver to install
It may pop up a list of things you can choose, pick Network Adapter, then on the next page click Have Disk, point it to the folder containing the files. (oemsetup.inf files)
If your using Windows XP, you will need to point to the Win2K folder
