I dont know if any of you guys use XFire but i'm gonna wing-it and post this....
Yahoo! is sueing XFire for Patent Infrigmentation(spelling), on patent 6,699,125. The patent is for an IM service which allows users to connect to games with their buddies. Yahoo's application is called GameProwler. From what i've heard it only allows users to join Yahoo Games. Anyways here's some more information on it:

There has also been a petition made:

If you support XFire, please sign the petition.

lol, I find it amusing how these companies have a stroke when it comes to competition. I don't use XFire, (no need to) but I know it is a nice app as I have tried it out for a week or 2.
Isn't someone else sueing another chat client, think it was Microsoft?
Well, does not surprise me if it is, MS is always trying to sue somebody, gotta keep them layers alert you know.
Thats sorta like Evian trying to sue another water bottling company for doing the same thing, lol. Honestly though, I hope Xfire is able to fight back, hate to see a good program go down the drain to some large company who no longer cares about the customers. *cough* MS *cough*
I didn't say that either, so forget if you read it :)

There is an interesting case of Cadbury suing a smaller chocolate firm because they have been using the same colored rapping as Cadbury do, so now Cadbury is now patenting the colour of the wrapper so no company on earth can use it. It's all getting a little out of hand.

mmm Cadbury is the ultimate easter treat *drools*
But, I agree, people want to patent air for crying out loud, I mean where will it end? I can say at ths rate the world will become dull as there will be nothing anyone can make without infringing some copyright somewhere. I think what needs to happen is the court systems and the gov need to put the smack down on companies such as these and put them in their place. I read an article somewhere and really believe it that the media (news ect..) and some large companies run this country and have more power than the gov and its people. It is sad, truly is.
