Are you using a No-CD patch of some sort? Is your graphics card up to scratch with the latest drivers?

I use a No-Cd crack, and i have a 9600xt with catalyst 5.2 (lastest), and directx 9.0c!

EDIT: It is version of PCGAME with VEGEANCE crack.

im not really sure what the problem could be, I have not encountered any errors with the game thus far using the Vengence fix.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Could possibly be corrupted game data, maybe one of the files from the cd is corrupt ?

Try ending programs running in the background by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del and see if is still crashes when you get to level 2, then you will know one of the programs running in the background is causing the problem, most notibly any virus scanners.

Reguardless of whether or not installation is "successful" data can be corrupted and still have a successful install. And who is to say that the data didn't corrupt after the install process? Despite the unlikelyness, when it comes to the PC, expect the unexpected. I have seen many CD-Rom drives that do not properly install a game because the protection on the CD interfers with the installation due to the CD-Rom not being able to read correctly. The result is a "successful" install (at least the installer reports success) but the actual game data was corrupted or some of it missing.

and Duffs advice is good as well, be sure to also scan your PC with updated virus scanner to be sure your not infected with something either.

I had a problem with Cossacks a number of years ago, it seemed to install fine, but the game would not start, so I went to the folder where is was installed and it had only installed about 20MB of files as opposed to the 800MB that was required! I put the CD in a different CD drive and it read the CD fine, and installed correctly.

I`v had the same problem with RTW. When i use a no-cd patch with v1.2, the game keeps crashing when i have played a while. I think it can be a corrupt crack you are playing with. But i have not confirmed that.
Maybe try downloading the crack from somewhere else.
if you are using a mini image the game could easily become unstable.
Thats what i have experienced, specily an RTW.

Which no-cd ar you using? (I mean in the main directory of the no-cd archive) or
are you using the NOSSE or SSE ?

Try the SSE version, replace main exe in game install folder with the SSE No-CD, if that does not work, try the NOSSE version ect.. Here is the one I am using that works (using SSE version) All 3 are in the archive.

The .EXE file, not a no-cd version.

How do you mean bugged? There was a few problems reported with it supposedly by one of the other groups, but the crack fix works.
