Hi all.
I'm using the latest version of both NWN (v1.66) and SoundBlaster Audigy 2. I have a 6.1 creative sound system.

The problem is that the game uses only 2 speakers even when i choose (7.1 or 5.1) at the sound option menu.

There's an option called "Enable Hardware Support".. I don't know if I have to check this or not. I tried both.. I tried everything, but I can't get it to utilize the 6 speakers.

When I get out of the game, I find that the default speaker system's changed to 2.1, so I have to choose 6.1 from the drop-down menu to enable it again.

I don't know what to do next.. I've almost gone crazy.. literally.
I'd appreciate any help.

What's the default set to? It may be going back to default each time.

The default is "2 speakers" .. but there are options for "5.1" and "7.1"

have you got the rear speakers plugged into the other sound port on the back of the card?, there should be 1 green slot for front and a black slot for the rear.

Man.. my 6 speakers are working like a charm in every other application.

ok? Was asking to make sure because it is a common error, and people can easily forget to plug something in ..

Anyways, gl.

I understand, Crypton.

So.. there is no hope. Too bad.. the game is great and this issue's making the game experience totally wrecked.

hmm, is there the option (out of game) to choose 5.1 or 7.1 by any chance? And have you tried setting it to 5.1 out of game and then setting it as well to 5.1 ingame?

I know it wont take complete advantage of the 6.1, but possibly at least get some surround sound going?

you may also try setting 5.1 ingame, then alt+tab out of game (dont close the game just minimize it)

then change your speaker settings to 5.1

Anyways, lemme know if you try this or if you already have, again gl with trying to get it working.
