cant install sims nightlife

i just got this game and i just finished installing sims 2 and it worked fine, but when i finish installing nightlife it asks me to update some stuff from cd4, it updates a bit but when it gets to effects.package it always says error and uninstalls the game, wtf is going on?? :mad:

now i've a bigger problem. when i put in cd4 it just says "unable to copy from disc" straight away

Sounds like your CD drive may be having problems reading. You may want to pickup a CD Lens cleaner (usually a few dollars at the store) and try and see if maybe it just has excess dust on the lense.

you can also use a can of air duster (but be careful and only spray quick light sprays so you do not damage the lens alignment as well as not to accidentally spray moisture into the cd drive.
