What are your thoughts on it Crytpon?, my first impression of the game was it was promising, but after playing it for a bit, it does not seem to have the appeal of the Age Of Empires 2 games. I like the idea of being able to go to your "home city" and send goods, this is a refreshing addition to Real-time Strategy games. I know it is only the demo, so it's hard to judge it thus far.

eh, honestly, in my opinion it is a bit better as far as gameplay than AoE 1/2
My biggest knock against it is the graphics, not really seeming to be much better than AoE2, mainly the water is the only big difference atm. Some of the things such as grass/rocks are slightly better textured, but not much. Was hoping for a surealistic look to the game. and definately was expecting alot more for the graphics side. I have it maxed atm at 1280x1024. Bleh, I am picky when it comes to graphics though :)
So far the overall gameplay I am enjoying more than I did in AoE 1/2 though. I like the fact that you build up your options using the city and getting new "cards" to enable the sending of supplies/military ect..
More or less it is becoming more like a RPG where you build up your character so to speak, I like that aspect of the game. And judging from past releases of Microsofts "trials" you can pretty much bet the game as it is now will be like it is in retail. I am going to play it a bit more and might come back and give more feedback on my thoughts.

Yeh I agree on that, it almost is like an RPG.
