White screen on startup

Hi i recently got a copy of breath of fire 4 for pc but everytime i start the game i just get a white screen with the music playing in the background, any ideas on how to solve this please ?.

Windows xp home sp2
2 gig mem
64 bit amd athlon 3600+
sb live 5.1
256mb ati radion 9600 pro

Could be your video card does not support what the game demands. White screenusually indicates an unsupported video card.

you may try however other drivers for your card as well as updatind to the latest build of DirectX9 by downloading the latest Web Installer of DirectX 9

Already have all th latest drivers for my system thanks including dx9c, and it should be compatible never had trouble with any other games and its listed as being compatible.

No doubt you most likely have DirectX 9C, but make sure you run the web installer as DX9 has monthly builds as they update it to fix issues with various games.

Can try running the game in compatiblity mode. Right click the exe, goto properties, Compatibility Tab.

Can try this driver and hotfix to see if it resolves the issue:
