hi
i was just wondering if that it was possible to make a backup of ps1 games without the need of a mod chip or any modifications to my ps1 i dont really want to take my ps1 apart are they any other way

I do not have a PSX to test things on, I have backed up a few games in which I had tested them on my brothers PSX, but I do not live close to them so cannot just easily go over there to test and really tell you exactly how as each game can be different in some cases.

Here is a good place to start however. It covers many burning programs and settings:

But in many cases, you will need a modchip.

thanks for all the advice and information you gave me i can't at the moment make a backup work but am using CD-RW and the website says only to use CD-R but i have made a image of the ps1 game and am loading it through a emulator at the moment but i can't find out with key is triangle yet and also where would i get a modchip from are they easy to install

np, and yeah, most CD/DVD drives in consoles will detect a CD-RW disc. B ut even CD-R/CD+R can be detected.

are they anything that will hide the fact that am using a cd-r like there bitsetting for dvds and how would i get hold of a modchip
