What the hell Antivirus are using?
The Razor1911 crack for v1.12 it's fine. Using AVG and Kaspersky Antivirus....
And Kaspersky it's in the top three AV...
v1.41 it's the community patch and in case that you didn't read carefully the documentation for it, it states clearly that you need the official patch v1.12 installed. As v1.41 doesn't alter the executable file you also need Razor1911's crack for v1.12.
As for AV, try one of the two that I use or Nod32 or Panda. Bit Defender is another decent AV, but my prefererence is the Kaspersky.

There is the v1.12 crack.
Gameburnworld scans the received files. Some antivirus software might detect the cracks as viruses, trojans or backdoors, but the very good ones don't give such false alerts.
The crack works fine, as it's the one that I used
As for Vista, it's the worst Windows so far(just my two cents). Not fit for gaming, despite all the advertising. And with SP1 and DirectX10.1 included in SP1, they are forcing you to make another hardware change as the DirectX10 video cards won't have access to the new features included in DirectX10.1. Dumbest thing I've seen from Microsoft. People who paid big bucks for a 8800 or 2900 or 8600 or 2600 are forced to upgrade again. Like they are wanting us to go back to console and leave the frigging Windows to people at office.

I'm using norton wolfsrain which, as I noticed in one of the other threads, tends to give false positives. So, due to the fact that I've never had an issue with ANY file I've dled from gbw, I'm going to try disabling autoprotect to see if I can get the file on my drive and run the game. In the event it does trash my system though I thought I would stop and put everyone that's said it was a false positive on alert :p ... lol

Just use the 1.5 Community Patch for Gothic 3, they removed the protection in it. ;)

Allow me to correct a few things: even if you install the community patch, the official 1.12 patch it's still needed.
The correct install order is:
1.Gothic3
2.official patch v1.12
3.community patch v1.52(this is the version which removes the protection from the exe file)

As for Norton, it's been a few years since it started to decline...Used to be a decent AV, now it's one that gives so many false positives...
Never had a problem with the files dl from gbw, either. If a crack didn't worked properly, that was the cracker's fault. But usually that happens rarely.
P.S.: I'm replaying G3,with community patch right now. There are ocasional crashes, but there are so many repaired quests and so many features that now are working properly, that I can ignore the crashes. Just don't forget to save often(quicksave it's a marvelous feature when it's added to a game:D )

The link I posted is for 1.52 m8, check the link

And yes 1.12 is needed, but you do not need to apply the 1.12 no-dvd, just patch and install the community patch.

Yup, true, but my link it's for the entire section, so in case that there will be an update, it will be easier to spot(the 1.6 patch it's already prepared).
As a side note, I'm a happy cat, as NMA posted killap's the unofficial expansion pack for Fallout2(actually it's more like restoring things that there were inside, but the script didn't activate them). Now if I manage to find my CD in the mess that's my house...Otherwise, well, I can go to a shop and buying it again, as it's around 6 USD...Ah, the pleasures of cleaning...

I've been running the euro 1.12 nocd fix for a couple days now and my system has had nothing abnormal going on. I ran process explorer and a packet sniffer to see what was running and what connections my comp was making while playing and for some time after playing. For those that don't want to use the 1.5 patch, I'm confident enough that there is no trojan or virus in the fix that I'll continue running it.
As for Norton, my wife is active army and I get it for free with all updates, so it's very cost efficient option for me lol.
Ty for the info on the 1.52 patch though. I may make that switch.
