How can you not patch it? Please be more specific. Did you replace the original exe with the Fixed exe one?

You need your original exe file from the original CD to update the game.

Patch may have partially downloaded, I suggest you download it again, from a different location/mirror, from what site did you download it from?

Where are you downloading the file from?
If you have a virus scanner such as Norton, please disable it and then try the download from here.

Virus Scanners are known to cause some probs on many different systems.

I know Kaspersky, it is what I use and is my favorite. If you had problems with internet connections using it, you may need to disable the "Realtime protection against Network Attacks"
Also sometimes certain "Script" protections may keep some pages from loading correctly. Simply uncheck the enable checkbox to disable, all should work fine again.
Not to get off topic, but you were better off using Kaspersky, you will see what I mean sooner or later, but One thing known about Norton and especially the Internet Security package is it is bloated, resource hogger, as well as intergrates itself into your entire system making it not fully remove when uninstalled.. This can also cause problems later on.
as to your question, "do you think so crypton?"
no, I know so, its my job.
Another thing some do not know, never run a "package" deal such as Internet Security that includes firewall ect..
Always run a seperate firewall! Even though I dislike Norton, You would be better off with just Norton AV and running a seperate firewall such as Sygate or ZoneAlarm.
Though I don't really like them either, Sygate is good, but can be stubborn if you do not know how to use it correctly. ZA well is ok, but can also be stubborn with playing games online.
Anyways, just a helpful hint, let us know if your able to solve the issue or need further help.

oh no m8, I was just saying that because I was not meaning to get off topic lol, was not meaning that towards you :) Just trying to help you out a bit, but Norton has some settings such as script blocking ect.., you can try to disable it, also may want to try another browser if you are using Internet Explorer, like FireFox or Opera.
But 9 times outta 10, download or web viewing related problems are caused from either Spyware, (sometimes a trojan can do it) but Virus Scanners can also block alot of content even though the content is harmless, the Scanner does not know and since download sites use various script methods to transfer and redirect you to a file based on what mirror you choose and current server load, the Virus Scanner may block some of the scripts that aid in getting the file to you, it may filter our some of the "pieces" of that file which would result in a corrupt copy when you finish the download.

You may want to scan you PC using an online service to be sure that something was not missed when you had a trojan. It is possible Norton is not detecting something and would be exactly what I meant when I said you would find out sooner or later why I dislike Norton. I used Norton for years and ended up with alot of problems that all ended the day I installed Kaspersky. Though I test and use various tools, scanners ect as I like to be up to date to recommend things to my customers here locally.
But I would go here and do a complete scan + spyware.

im not sure I follow, trojan horses dont go away by themself, they can deactivate and reactivate at a given date, but there are not many around that will actually "clean" themself up.
Anti-Spyware is not a Virus scanner, Trojan Horses are a type of virus, malicious code that can enable control of your PC remotely. Anti-Spyware will not rid your system of a Trojan, only rid of Spyware which are completly different things. Still recommend scanning with the linnk I posted.

This thread is past it's use by date, you won't provide us with the information we require, it's wasting our time, sorry to do this but it's getting closed. Besides, there is nothing more we can do to help, you have tried everything.
