I've just downloaded the 1.06 no dvd file and the file is .dat format. What program can be used to open this to extract the Crack

Done that now where does the file get copied to as I've found 10 versions od cnc3game.dat in the game directories

Needs to go in your games directory/folder (where you installed the game) replacing the original one, often the original one will be in the root folder of the game install directory.
