Sims 2 Issue.

I'm having a problem trying to play the Sims 2.

I copied the files from my friends computer and onto a dvd.

Then I copied the files to my computer, without installing or anything, just extracting.

I then downloaded a no-cd patch seeing as my friends wasn't working and it still won't let me into the game.

Can you help me?
