Hello, I have read all the threads i can about this and i have read all the instructions but i still cannot get my patch to work. First i installed diablo 2 and then the expansion. Next i updated too 1.11b, after that i went and downloaded the 2 patches on Game burn world. I extracted both of the files
DIABLO 2: LORD OF DESTRUCTION v1.11b [ENGLISH] NO-CD/FIXED EXE (1.05MB)
DIABLO 2: LORD OF DESTRUCTION v1.11b [ENGLISH] SINGLE PLAYER/MULTIPLAYER NO-CD/FIXED EXE (17.4KB) .
I copy and then pasted those files into my diablo 2 file it asked me if i wanted to replace, i said yes i would love to overwrite. I replaced the files then i tried to play the game. It says insert the cd, i just dunno what to do i am lost in a sea of green.

It may be that the exe still has the CD checks present, the file was submitted as a No-CD, but the DEVIANCE group may have removed the protection encryption but left the CD checks.
Hi ..
I dont know if you already know this, but when you install Diablo II and the extension Lord of destruction, you must choose full install and full upgrade everytime its possible...
When you have finished installing, you have to put the Lord of Destruction CD back in your cd drive and copy some files from the original game to the map you have installed it into on your pc...
It is the files ending on .mpq (f.ex. d2video.mpq )
Some of the .mpq files have allready been copied by installing, but some are missing..
Then run update , and then follow the instructions in the no-cd-crack
Good luck with it, hope it works

Copyin the video files was the solution, but the multiplayer patch still doesnt work. IF you have any ideas for that, that would be nice to but still thanks alot for the original help.

I have the same problem as in the first post .
I ran the Full Install , Updated to Diablo 2 v 1.11b , then went to h**p://w*w.gameburnworld.c*m/gp/gamefixes/diablo2.shtml page and downloaded the 1.05 MB no - cd patch for v 1.11b .
I then copied all the .mpq files from the 3 discs into my Diablo 2 game directory .
Then I cut and pasted my original game.exe to another folder .
Then , I cut the game.exe from the no-cd rar file and pasted it into my Diablo 2 game directory .
But , on clicking the game icon , I keep getting the error " Please insert Playdisc "
Please , help me get the game to start .......... :( :( :( :( :(
Help Greatly appreciated :o

I decided to install the expansion pack ... but when I install it ... it completed nearly upto 99% , but at the end it gives an error saying :
Setup was unable to add the following file to E:\Diablo II\d2char.mpq:
binkw32.dll
Error 0x85200064:
(D:\D2\TOOLS\DiabInst\Source\MpqUtil.cpp:32)
Installation aborted.
I have no idea what to do . Can someone help me out ?

have you tried trying to copy the file manually ie copy & paste the file to the desktop or something and try making a copy with something like Alcohol 120% and installing it through a virtual drive

Yes , even tried that . But not with alcohol .. i used daemon tools .
Same error everytime .
I read somewhere about d2loader .
Tried that also . But even after copying the .mpq files from the LOD cd into the D2 directory , it keeps telling me it cant find the .mpq files - but WTF the files are there .. the program doesn't see them .....
This really pisses me off ...

cant think of anything else for you to try instead of trying to burn a copy with Alcohol 120% which i use for backing up all my games with
