Aye, even though alot of peeps don't like Gothic 2, I rather enjoyed it.

Gothic 3 German version is due for Release September 2006, other language versions will soon follow.

Hopefully they make G3 more moddable as G2 was somewhat limited as to what you could add/mod in it. Modding for me is a must for todays games as it add so much more replayability and extended lifetime value of the game.

On September 12th we have shipped a Goldmaster version of Gothic 3 for replication. However, due to several problems that got known only afterwards no production has taken place, instead we decided to create another, new goldmaster.
This new master is currently (Sep 21st) still being worked on!
Therefore, no one has had any access to the version that will start selling on October 13th in various European territories.
No testing (by external persons) of this version can have been done. All test results that have been published up to now are based on the scrapped goldmaster or in many cases on even older preview versions.

I haven't yet played it as i have problem with the game...I tried on 3 pc's including mine and at two pc it didn't play and a problem occured but at the last pc there wasn't the problem and it played just fine...SO let me explain the prob Crypton:
Problem
After i finish the install there follows the direct install (August Version)after it finished it tries to install a program Visual +++C a microsoft 2005 redistributable and a problem occurs as i have i greek language XP i will try to translate:error 1723 :There is a problem with the package of WINDOWS installer.It was not possible a run of DLL which is requiriedto finish this install.
Plz conntact the personal...blah blah...
After that the install finish and i try to run the game and error occurs which say the path of the game.
WHat is interesting at the friend of mine on whose PC the game worked he didn't get tha error with the VIsual +++C and it worked....
Now about the game even if i played it only for 10 minutes at my friend's i liked it very much the game seems to be so real the forest's wild boars, Scavengers etc.U start at i village which is occupied by the orcs and you start fighting them off the village with your friends Gorn,Miltien,Dexter and Diego....More info and screenies later when i will make the game to work....

By passed the problem just now all i was need to do was to install windows installer 3.0 from microsoft to install the Visual ++C....

Don't have time to be making cracks, if I did I would still be making alot of them.

And I already have the exe, ordered the UK Version from Amazon.co.uk few days ago, got it this morn. Not had a chance to play though, just got off work and have to goto school in a few (college)

UK and German are protected with Tages. I would expect issues with Tages, never have had a game with Tages that ran right. I have a few old games that also have Tages and didn't work right from the origional exe, always had to use a nocd fix.

US Release will be SecuROM. But, I could not wait for US Release, been wanting to play it.

As far as making an image, you can try, but I do not believe even DT supports emulating Tages as of yet.

Well,finally the game we all where waiting for has been released.Well i have been playing the game
for a week now and until now there is very much detail to tell,but i will try to make it shorter...
The game start with an ingame trailer in which you return from the khorins with your friends Diego,Dexter,Milten and Gorn.
You are at the main land which has been occupyied by Orcs.You start by fighting of the orcs from a small village which is called Ardea.
After you have killed enough orcs the battle will be over and the village will be free again.Then you learn from a villager that Xardas
your friend from gothic 2 has been helping the orcs and you start over in an adventure to find Xardas.

Graphics...
Well i must say the graphics in this game rule,the nature seems sooooo real.I was walking just at the forest and i was attacked by a group of
wild boars and i started to fight off them,but i coudn't as they where working as a family or a team..but then suddenly a wolf pack came from forest and attacked the wild boars..
The detail of the game is also at a very high scale..all over the world of the gothic you can find so many faces and all are different...

Gameplay...
The game play is classic just in gothic 2 and 1 with minor changes...You use the buttons W,D,S,A to move to different direction you use Alt to Jump Ctrl to sneak
and finally you use the mouse to dodge and attack.The attack varies with just the buttons you push.

Ranking...

Graphics: 9.5
Gameplay:8.5( i didn't give 9 or even 10 just for the bugs the game has but they will be fixed with the upcoming patch)
Sound:10 (perfect voice acting)
Story:10 ( perfect just perfect,play the game to find it out)
Overall:9.5

Just this for now as image shack has some loading prob.
I play the game at low settings so that's why the graphics at screenies aren't and the best.
Tried at my friends at high and saw the great results..

Short stutter there, not sure why it did that, didnt do it ingame, but fraps seemed to have craped out when the sound effects from the lightning spell kicked in.

Well, reuploaded it after encoding with diff settings and googler video stgill downgraded the quality quite a bit, well, it is at least better than the first.. Should have just did the divx thing, but wanted it easier to be viewed for anyone wanting to watch it.

Probably is ram, game min requirement is 1gb, but I have 1.5 and game still has stutters now and then. Might need to tweak your ini settings a bit. Open ge3.ini located in the \Gothic 3\ini\ folder

Set these settings as shown below:

Here is my ge3.ini and UserOptions.ini I have made other changes as well, try em out and see if it helps m8.

I have some other files I will be posting as well for G3, I gotta write a readme on how to use them so I get less questions here, they are not for performance, but more or less to fix annoyances in the game. See attachment for my ini files.

Try it with just using the ge3.ini and not useing my UserOptions.ini

just remove the one there and start the game and set your keys, it will create a new one.

As far as path, I wass going with the rebels, but there is a bug in the game, when I liberated the last town all the rebles turned against me. So now I do not have anywhere friendly to goto.

The sword, I do not remember exaclty, but the firesword I got near he beginning of the game, it was for sale on an NPC (I think it will be avail when you reach a certain level) might want to go back and check the NPC's to see if it is for sale. The Ice Sword I believe I looted, but I do not really remember where :/

And yep, I have liberated them all that I know of, though, I have to chedck to be sure as I may have missed one.

Or maybe not considering I am using the same ini files (I simply gave you mine) and I am running fine. Guru issue is actually a common bug on ATI cards. There are alot of people complaining about that error on the JoWood forums.

Try this instead:

Copy the ge3.ini from your game DVD to replace your old one (it is located on the DVD you can simply copy it, make sure to unmark it as readonly after copy.

then, delete your UeerOptions.ini

Then try this: Open the default ge3.ini you just copied to your game folder.

Change:

Cache.SizeMesh=70000000

Well, not sure, however, mine works fine.

I do know that 1.08 has been causing that error for alot of people. Read the G3 forums. But I know my tweaks work, if you want the default ini, here it is:

However, my edits from what I told you are nothing wrong with them, I use them myself and so does a few people as I have passed it around many places. So it must be something related to the game and your setup.

oh, im not sure, I heard someone had luck using an older driver, while someone else has luck with the newest. I do not game on ATI cards, so im not much help here, I just know the issue seems to be related to ATI cards *shrug*
