A way to Play Quake3 team arena?

Okay here is the problem. I own Quake 3 team arena which is the expansion of Quake 3. The problem is that I don't own Quake 3 so I cannot play team arena. Are there any ways I can get this game to work. i tried to install the expansion but can't without Quake 3...what should I do?

What?! Crap...I knew I should have bought Quake 3 instead of Quake 3 team Arena... I can't even play it cuz I don't have the first one... I'm not going to buy Quake 3 cuz it's old now... I think I'll sell it... well thanx for da reply...

Well, quake 3 is a good game still, even if a little old, but if your looking for something similar (sorta similar) with some good action I would get Unreal Tournament 2004

Yeah, I have it and it's the best!!! I was just looking through my games and couldn't find Quake3 but found team arena so...thanx though...
