what size is the DVD? Place the DVD in your drive, then right click on your drive icon and choose properties. This will let you see what size the game is on the DVD.
If it is not too much bigger you can turn on "Allow Overburn" in your burning application settings to burn a disc that is slightly larger than 4.7 capacity. (Warning do not do overburning of some crazy oversize like 5GB ...)
Basically CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-+R/RW have a set capacity. normal 700MB CD-R's for example you can normally safely overburn them around 710MB.
There are many tools around which can be used to examine a blank media to determine it's overburn capability and how much more you can fit on it "Safely"
You can try http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
DVD Identifier can show you the size (True) capacity of your blank DVD and will allow you to determine overburn capability.
