Halloo.

Ok, got a question from my bro who has just got a beast of a PC with two 7800's in it.

Do games automatically use both cards or do you have to patch them or configure them to run in SLI, as looking at quake 4 running on it the other day it didnt run any higher than my single card PC.

I've seen screenshots where people have a display on that tells you what each graphics card is doing, anyone know how to get this up just to see if and when they are working together.

Ta chaps.

The gameplay should be very smooth on older games such as Quake4, however, it will not look any better because Quake 4 was not written to take advantage of things such as Pixel Shaders 3.

But.. In order to get a game/application running using SLI to improve Visual Quality and performance, you need to download a profile for the game, see this link: (lsit of games there are games that can use SLI already (have built in profiles) Quake 4 is among the list.

If you do not see your game/application on the list, check these instructions for a quick run on how to create a profile.

As far as how to get the info thing up, don't know, I do not have any SLI cards, but they may be using some third party software and could be software that comes with the SLI Video Cards maybe on the driver CD ?

Also be sure to download and install/use the latest nVidia drivers as they will have the profiles to use for whatever game is supported.
