What If I said you were a tested positive to inherit boundless stupidic mental disorders? You are a complete moron no offence, I am forced to ask you to why you had even the slightest problem to acknowledge I never had the original CDS...

None for this version so far, afterall the patch update has only just come out, should a No-CD patch for this version be released, keep an eye on the New Files section on the main page.
And TheSkunkist if you do not own the original game then there's no help here.

hes right - you should be able to use your original disc - if not - are they faulty? - you should be entitled to a replacement if your original disc does not work - contact the supplier - should have a phone number or contact in the documentation.

Lol.. Why don't you use your original Disc>?
Oooops.. You don't seem to have any.. that too bad.
I'll tell you why I use no-CD cracks, even when I own the game (I purchased Civ4 when it was on sale at ebgames.com). For a few reasons: 1) it slows the game down when it accesses the disk, and 2)it wears down my $54.00 investment in the game when the disk is constantly used. I feel that if I buy the game, and own a legitimate copy, I should not HAVE to use the original disk to access it.
That's why a no-CD is created for it -- for those who do not want to have to use their original disks.
So, allow me to ask -- is there a way for someone who owns a legitimate, original copy of this game to play it patched to 1.61 without having to pull out their original disks?

I had been unable to utilise the mini-image for Civ IV until AB 1.18 arrived. For any of you that didn't succeed with earlier versions of AB, 1.18 may work for you as well. :)

I apologize for asking this, but I've never used a "mini-image" before .. could anyone point me in the right direction for instructions?
I Appreciate this in advance!

All the files you need to make use of a mini-image for CIV IV are within this site :)

Although I know around here somewhere in the forums (*cough* SEARCH! *cough*) there are instructions, I'm in a good mood, so here it is, on a simple 1-2-3:
1. Download and install Daemon Tools 4.03 (Google's your friend!), reboot.
2. Download the game's mini-image (GameBurnWorld's your friend!)
3. Left click on the red lightning icon on the bottom-right corner of your screen, click on Device 0, browse for mini-image from the window that has popped-up, double-click on it.
4. If the patch hasn't changed the game's protection, the mini-image that came out for 1.0 should work just fine for any patched version. Enjoy!

Thanx DarkLeftos - your instructions were perfect.
Just a side note - I do own the game but my CD rom sounds like an aircraft carrier at full thottle. LOL!! Besides I seem to getting more lazy by the second, who's got the energy to swap cds these days:) . But thanx again.

Is anybody else having problems with the 1.61 patch? When I open the game using it I don't see any forests of jungles in the map.

Well, I've downloaded the "fixed" 1.61 no cd patch from here.
Unfortunately, whenever I start a game, it only gives me ten turns "left" to play. Why is this?

I've had the same problem with the 1.61 patch. I thought it was just my computer being stupid. Whats the difference with the 2 patches that are on the site as well?

Well, the fix of the fix of the fix...
The last one, with "win2k" written into the file name, is the one that works! It also includes a rather humourous exe which is a cartoon movie expressing in no uncertain terms how much trouble the author had in cracking the 1.61 patch. We all owe him a debt of thanks.
Another interesting thing, I only have Windows 98 but it still works! So don't let the "win2k" nonsense put you off...

I already have the disk version and have the v1.61 patch. I downloaded no disk v1.61 and clicked on the exe file and got this message:
"This application has failed to start because binkw32.dll was not found..."
What does this mean?

I have updated the game to 1.61 and tried using the Carbon No-CD fix, but the game plays without trees or resources.
