ok so lets say i bought nhl 2005, anyways, im trying to back it up using daemon tools, but there seems to be no .iso files, any ideas ?

What do you mean there is no "ISO Files"? You need to create the ISO file first from the CD, you ca do this in many forms, one way is to use Nero Burning ROM which is one of the most popular of the programs.

Daemon-Tools does not make "iso" files, it is simply a front-end to the virtual cd drive it creates. You use Daemon-Tools to mount images such as "iso" to play.

In order to create an iso or other image type from a game you have purchased, you will need to use another application such as Alcohol 120%

.iso is just an image of the actual cd, to be used with virtual cd applications like Daemon-Tools or to burn onto a CD-R(W) for backup purposes.

btw, Alcohol 120% also has a virtual cd-rom built into it, so most games you can make work as they would on Daemon-Tools, both Daemon-Tools and Alcohol 120% support many CD-Rom image types such as .iso (standard cd image) .ccd (Clone CD), .mds (alcohol 120% makes these), .nrg (Nero) each type of file is able to backup certain protections better than another, iso, well, iso will only be good for standard cd-checks.

a few links to help you out. All are capable of making backup images of your CD's, Alcohol 120% is a very nice all in one app that can make images capatible ewith most burning applications. As well as can burn them without the need for another burning app.
