Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

I have installed this game and it loads fine no porblems with menu and intro screens. Lets me set up character I went an orc. start the game and I get a white screen with the compass at the bottom along with the health bar. I can move and see a table or something in front of me.

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
2.17GHz
512mb of RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis
This is an unsupported card is there a fix/patch to let me play the game?
