I love the sims2 and i have owned the game for a while (dvd edition). i recently borrowed the university expansion from the video store. I read the begining of the book explaning that university will over write files of the sims2 if not saved in another place, and by default the games saves these files in a different place for you. Anyway on instilation i saved the university files in the default setting and played the game. When i had to uninstall the game and return i could no longer play my normal sims game. I decided that i should uninstall the sims 2 game and reinstall it, so i did but it still dosent work a blanc error message keeps popping up and the only way to play the sims 2 is to have the university expansion installed but i dont own it and cant afford to buy it. I have tried downloading cracks and i have alchohol 120 and daemon tools but nothing i try seems to work. does anyone know anything that i can do?

First of all, welcome to the forums. I'm sure many of us could help you, but before we misguide you, I suggest you contact the experts on the matter, and that's EA's Tech Support. I'm sure they'll be able to help you with your problem. Remember, this is not a Tech Support forum, we are here to help people with no-cd cracks and with backing up their games.

Have to agree with DL here, the game will also warn you during install that the savegames after being saved again in the expansion will no longer be readable/usable if uninstalled by previous versions of the game.
The only way to revert back would have been to backup your savegames before installing the expansion so you could put them back after uninstalling it.
I am unsure if EA has a fix, but like DL said, you will need to contact them as there is not much we can do as far as that goes.
