They are able to detect more than just safedisc, they detect packers as well as other protections such as copylock, securom, starforce, laserlok, ect..

normally just the exe, (ex. SplinterCell3.exe)

sometimes you will need to scan another file such as a dll file, A-Ray Scanner gives you the option to scan a directory, in which you can choose the main games install folder, or in Splinter cell's case you can choose the \splinter cell\system folder.

If you go into options of A-Ray you can choose (context menu) this will allow you to simply right click a file and choose scan with A-Ray Scanner
Same with ProtectionID. Open ProtectionID then on the main ProtectionID UI, on the left you will see a check box that says "Context Menu" check it then exit ProtectionID, you can now also right click a file and "Scan with ProtectionID

If you want to scan a CD before installing it, try ClonyXXL

i had some other problems
like copying 1 game on 2 discs
alway when the first disc is on 100% with alcohol 120% it had a problem i dont copy them on a cd but a dvd maybe that can be the problem maybe not but can u help me i'l tell u tomoroow what it sayd exactly

what protection do i have to select on alcohol %120 ???

depends on what version of alcohol you have, older one you may need to choose "SecuROM *NEW*" since they left the option for 4.x/5.x out by accident on a previous version.

New version of Alcohol has the option for SecuROM (4.x/5/x) which you would choose for the new one.

i have 1.9.5 i think and 4/5 comes in there
is it normal that alcohol cant write on a half-written dvd rewriteble ???

im not sure Alcohol will continue "sessions" think you may need to erase the rewritable and write from it when it's blank.

do you have the full version of Alcohol or the Trial ? The trial is limited to something like 100MB burn ..
