my problem

look i borrowed my friend my swat4 game and he can play it without the cd
he found that file on gameburnworld he said it was a fixed exe
but can u explain to me where i have to extract en so
cause it doesn't work with me
and if it aint a fixed exe can u tell me the url to find the crack for no cd
or the fixed exe that works

nocd and fixed exe are almost the exact same thing (almost)

however, you need to extract the "fixed" exe to the system folder of your game

example c:\Programs Files\Sierra\Swat 4\System\

depending on where you installed the game of course the path maybe different.

You need to overwrite the origional exe with the one from the zip or rar archive.

Make sure you backup the origional exe in case you need to put it back in order to patch the game when and if they release a patch update because the "fixed" exe will not allow for ugrade in most cases.

i did that well not really that
what i did was : extrct the fixed exe and gave the fixed exe a different name so the normal exe is still in the system map and couldit be that that is the reason it doesn't work without my cd?

um, ya because you are clicking the shortcut for the game and it is starting the "origional" exe perhaps?

Try the way I explained how to do it, just backup the origional so you have a copy to put back later if needed.

it doesn't ask to replace it and when i press the fixed exe it says open with.....

the fixed exe is the 67 kb file right ???

there is no fixed exe from 170 kb only this:

on a side note the (63Kb) fixed exe is the right one, that is representing its "compressed" sized in the archive, unpacked it should be a 176KB exe...

That would depend on the size of the file, I do not currently have my game anymore as I usually give all my games to my brothers when I get bored with them. They some a few hours away so not really possible for me to access it atm. Maybe someone else, but again, how big is that file?

well, doubt email will do you any justice. Someone would have to put it on a file host and give you a link to download.

However, my question is. If you own the game, how in the world would your filesize be any different than anyone elses? ;)

well im assuming its because it never finishes installation process, probably because it never ends writing the whole file and i end up with a 1.15 mb file and a big error that the only thing i can do is exit installation therefore not complete....and it can be done thru gmail or www.yousendit.com which is better... but i will probably have to buy the game again

Can you test the CD/DVD, make an image of it and see if it is able to copy, if not, you may be able to get away with a temp fix such as purchasing a cd scratch repair kit from a local store. Often, you can fill the gaps on the cd/dvd and make it readable again. you can pick up some type for fairly cheap (4-8 bucks) Make sure it is liquid based.

BTW, You can get by at times by using a wood polish, such as Old English. It contains a transparent wax that acts as filler to make the scratches disappear. While it wont last forever, it will get you by for now and possibly for a long period of time. In case you cannot find a repair kit, try houshold furniture polish ;) Pledge works as well.
