Haven't really had the time for games, but from what I have heard it's even better than its predecessor.

You won't get a honest review on the webz. Yes, the multiplayer part it's well done ( but Bad Company 2 it's still better in that area ). As for the Single Player campaign, don't put your hopes too high: you'll be through with it really fast. The game still has tons of bugs in both MP and SP, it's very scripted in SP, it's using the same engine as World at War, which means that you are very limited in movement in SP campaign, it's poorly optimised. The bugs and the optimization can be done through patches. The length of SP campaign and the heavily scripted events from the SP campaign plus the invisible walls that will limit your freedom of movement will not.
Essentially, Black Ops it's a MP game, with little to offer in SP campaign. COD veterans are still considering the first Modern Warfare the best MP experience in a COD game. At the moment Bad Company 2 leads the MP pack, followed shortly by the first COD: MW, on the third place being COD: MW2. Following those, titles like Left for Dead 1+2, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Heroes, COD: World at War. Black Ops still has to prove itself in MP, but that won't be possible until Treyarch will solve the MP bugs.
So bottom line: wait for a few patches to come out. See if the game gains enough followers for online epic matches. In the meanwhile the price will go down and you might have a less frustrating online experience.
P.S.: the SP campaign's story it's decent, but not really groundbreaking. The original Modern Warfare had a better story.

hey wolfsrain,
So you are thinking the game as more of a multiplayer game, if your more into multiplayer games its the way to go?

It's decent on MP, but they really need to iron the bugs. So buying the game right now: no, i wouldn't recommend it. After they squash the bugs and the price drops a bit, yes, it might worth a buy (maybe one of those Christmas sales). The SP it's just like in the World at War (corridor shooter) and the graphics are in the same area (2005). Personally, I'd go for Borderlands GOTY edition. Offers a lot more fun in both SP and MP. If you want an MP game right now, Bad Company 2 it's an excellent grab. For COD Black Ops an wait and see attitude it's a wiser attitude. The game it's too expensive for what it's offering right now.
