Sims 3 no cd crack

I used the no cd crack/fixed exe. and have replaced the original files and it starts up but then says this is not an up to date modification and it could crash my computer. I used the newest version from gameburn so why is it saying this?

What version of The Sims 3 are you using? Double check the No-CD patch version matches your game version.

Looks like I really have to start a new thread about how to install Sims 3. Won't be as nice as Crypton did his FAQ for 2 (and me kinda of ruining it by updating it), but it will help. With the incoming Fast Lane stuff pack and Late Night expansion, people will start being confused again. Especially when they buy the special editions and discover that they can't access the stand alone releases due to incompatibility.

Sounds like a good idea. It's also amazing how many people still love the playing The Sims 3 series games, still as popular as ever.
